Delete your Chef Pepper account

This page explains how to delete your Chef Pepper account, what is deleted, and the two things that are kept without you attached to them.

How to delete it

If you still have the app

  1. Open Chef Pepper
  2. Go to Profile
  3. Tap Delete account, under Sign out
  4. Read what it tells you, then tap Delete everything

It happens immediately and it cannot be undone.

If you have uninstalled it

Reinstall Chef Pepper from Google Play and sign in with the same account, then follow the steps above. Signing in does not restore anything you would then be deleting — it only lets the app prove who you are before it deletes your data.

If you cannot reinstall it, email support@simplyindepth.com from the address you signed up with and we will delete the account for you. We will confirm when it is done, within 30 days.

What is deleted

What is kept, and why

Two records outlive the account. Neither can identify you afterwards — your identity is removed from both at the moment of deletion.

RecordWhy it is kept
A report you sent us about somebody else's content The report concerns content that may still be in front of other people. Deleting it would drop a case we may still need to act on.
The record that a purchase happened Refunds and chargebacks outlive an account, and Google may ask us about a transaction after you have gone.

Reports about your content are deleted along with the content itself, because there is then nothing left for anyone to act on.

How long it takes

Deleting from inside the app is immediate. Backups held by our hosting provider are overwritten on their own schedule and are never used to restore a deleted account.

Deleting some things without deleting your account

You do not have to delete everything to delete something:
